About Us

Thorold Theatre

Thorold Theatre, founded in 1986, has been a proud part of Niagara’s cultural landscape for nearly four decades. As a not-for-profit, community-driven company, we exist for one reason: to bring people together through the magic of live theatre.

We rely on two things to make that magic happen — the support of our audiences and the generosity of local businesses and individuals who believe in keeping the arts alive.

Over the years, we’ve built a reputation as a "Niagara gem.” Our productions feature high-quality scripts, dedicated volunteers, and talented actors — many with professional stage, television, or film credits. Audiences consistently tell us that our shows feel “bigger than community theatre,” yet are as warm and welcoming as a neighbour’s home.

Now entering an exciting new chapter, Thorold Theatre is embracing bold ideas: vagabond productions, partnerships across Niagara, and performances in unique venues. What hasn’t changed is our heart: creating shows that entertain, inspire, and celebrate the joy of theatre with our community.
